Hi, I’m Matt Jacobs.

I have been building on the web for 20 years and I love solving user problems. (Everbody: Hiiii Maaaatttt.)

As of September 2023, I am a staff engineer at Fastly. Before that, I spent time at Etsy, Tinybop, OkCupid, and Six Apart. In between all that I worked at some smaller companies.1

Oh, I have a family! I’m married and have two kids. They’re great. We all live together in Denver, CO. This is a lot of text and you still don’t know what I look like.

I kinda look like 👨‍🦲, but I have hair on the sides. Honestly, 👴 is more accurate, but I am not yet comfortable describing myself with the old man emoji. I suppose a picture would be more helpful.

This site is definitely still a ⚠️work-in progress⚠️. Its primary purpose is a place for people to learn who I am. For now, that is the details above. In the future, it’ll likely include some amount of writing.
